How to Buy a Home if You Have Bad Credit

Filed under: Uncategorized — Poster @ 11:01 pm

In these economic times, if you find yourself with a suffering credit situation, you are not alone.  And this has forced many people to end up renting a home, thinking that they cannot buy a home.

If you find yourself in this situation, don’t fret, as I can show you how to buy your own home, fix your credit and stop throwing your money down the drain by paying rent.  Most buyers have never heard of rent to own homes.  This is often the best way for many to buy a home and build equity.  Let me show you how it works.

The best way to get started is to contact a company that specializes in the rent to own process.  These companies are usually not realtors.  But they often either have a list of available homes or can even take your wishes and go find a home for you. Look for companies that will work with you to get qualified for a mortgage by helping you improve your credit score. Don’t work with someone who just wants to take your money without assisting you in actually buying the home.

Once you have found a company you feel comfortable with and have found a home that you like, you first pay a nonrefundable option fee that will be applied to the final purchase price of the home. You then rent the home for a year or two, while you work with your rent-to-own company to improve your credit and get approved for a mortgage to buy the home.

Just note that it is important to work with a rent-to-own company has relationships with a large number of banks and mortgage companie so you have the best programs and more options available to you.

As soon as you get your mortgage approval while working with your rent-own-company you can, you can then buy the home at the previously agreed upon price.  You now own your home, you have improved your credit and have had help getting there.  And you got to move a lot sooner.

As you can see, a rent-to-own arrangement is perfect for people with less than perfect credit who want to stop throwing their money away month after month by renting an apartment or house, and start building equity by purchasing a home of their own.

The Wii and Unique Bid Aucion Sites

Filed under: Uncategorized — Poster @ 9:01 pm

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve surely seen or heard about the Nintendo Wii. It’s one of the top-rated gaming system on the market today. It’s especially popular for young kids and older adults as it offers a way to get increased physical activity in addition to entertainment.

How do you get physical activity using a gaming console? Simple, the wireless controllers are required to be moved in similar motions to those actually required by doing the activity in the game. There are a plethora of games like Olympics, Bowling and boxing that make you move the controller. It’s much more than just tapping some buttons on a controller. Seriously, you must perform the actions just like you would in real-life. They already have a bunch of games available and more are on the way. I also like the Wii Fit which helps you monitor your physical health.

It can be tough to find a cheap ninteno wii. As stated above they are sometimes hard to find at any price. You could go to the local big-box store or even search around on eBay but one of the best places to find a cheap ninteno wii is at a uniue bid auction site. There are a couple out there but I personally like www.auctions4acause.com because they donate a portion of their proceeds to charity.

So how do you go about getting one of these gaming consoles for less than 10 bucks? With just one bid of $9.94 you could score a cheap ninteno wii. That means that you could win that item for literally pennies on the dollar. Even if it took 6 bids you could get one for less than $60.

A bit more info on the Wii compared to the others: My only gripe is that it does not support HD. The graphics are stil good but in the long run they just don’t compare to the PS3 or XBox 360 which both support HD.

Your Guide to Online Shopping

Filed under: Uncategorized — Poster @ 8:05 pm

The online shopping industry keeps growing, and more and more products are made available online. You can now find everything and purchase the items you want just with a few clicks.

Use an online shopping directory to find the best online stores and deals. Shopping directories are great when searching for online shopping websites, because they have links to a large variety of sites, and the stores are grouped in categories depending on their region and on the merchandise that they are selling. Some of the online shopping directories also have reviews of the stores that they are linked to, so that you know what to expect from them.

Online shopping can save you a lot of time and money, and the online market keeps growing so if you haven’t tried buying something from an online store, give it a try and you’ll see that it’s much simpler than going to a supermarket. You can order food and clothes for you family in a few minutes and with a few clicks, and you don’t have to leave your home to do it.

Paying online is now pretty simple for the online buyer. Online retailers usually use secure credit card payments for their sites, giving security against card theft, or some sites allow shoppers to use electronic transfer sites such as Paypal to transfer funds to an approved retailer straight from his or her bank account.

Given the state of the economy and the overwhelming increase in petrol prices, it makes sense to put your feet up, sit back and let the internet take care of your entire home shopping needs.

Two old guys with two old kayaks

Filed under: Uncategorized — Poster @ 7:11 pm

As many of you know, I have been involved with the kayak rental Galveston Bay organization for many years. I absolutely love to kayak and have owned and personally built almost every type and size of kayak including sit-ins to sit-upons and both single person and two person models.

I have never been especially fond of ocean kayaking but prefer the tranquility and calm of floating down a quiet lagoon or exploring the hidden coves of a fresh water lake.

A few months ago, my best friend Tony and I decided to pack our favorite kayaks on top of my Hummer and travel around the country for a couple months exploring different places to splash our boats. The trip actually got extended to almost seven months but that one of the benefits of being semi-retired and not needing to go to a job. The trip also ended up taking us out of the country to Canada which hadn’t been in our original plan.

Needless to say, we had some unbelievable experiences! We kayaked mountain streams in Colorado, some beautiful lakes in Minnesota and many, many other truly fantastic spots.

One of the places we kayaked that was especially nice and rather surprising was in the Boston, MA area. We had heard that the back bays and estuaries around Boston were a particularly interesting area to kayak and we definitely found that to be true. It was amazing to find such primitive areas and wildlife within just a few miles of Harvard Square.

The only problem we had with Boston is that it is almost as expensive as New York and we had to do some serious hunting to find affordable inexpensive Boston hotels. We succeeded but the funny thing is that we then left the country to kayak the St. Clair lakes chain outside of Montreal, Canada and by that time we were ready to indulge ourselves and went shopping for the best price on a luxury hotel Montreal.

We finally made it back to Houston after almost seven months of traveling and kayaking with memories that I hope we will never forget.

Has Scotland moved to North Carolina USA?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Poster @ 5:08 pm

Did you know that there are more people living in North Carolina USA who boast Scottish descent than there are Scots living in Scotland?

Not a surprising piece of news to those who know their Scottish History. Large numbers of people left Scotland for the New World of America following the Scottish highland clearances. If you visit the Laird of Jura website you will read about how nearly 2,000 people left the Isle of Jura in Argyll and the surrounding areas on a fleet of boats on an expedition that settled in North Carolina.

However what I did not know until fairly recently when I was reading about the town of Laurinburg in North Carolina which is as Scottish as the country of Scotland if not more so. For example:

The town of Laurinberg is situated in the state county of “Scotland”.

Laurinberg’s High School is actually called “Scotland High School”. And what better school song could they have than “Scotland the Brave” the national anthem of Scotland itself.

The school has a marching band who all wear the Royal Stewart Tartan. And of course they have a prize winning bagpipe band wearing the full kilt.

They use the same name “Fighting Scots” for their Basketball, Baseball and Football teams.

Visit St Andrews Presbyterian College (named after the patron saint of Scotland) and you will be challenged by a large Scottish Highlander with his Claymore Sword defending the college or at least a bronze statue of a highland warrior.

The College is also home to the Scottish Heritage Centre.

Feeling hungry? Visit the local fast food company called Scottish Foods using a Scottish bagpiper as its main logo.

The area even has a soccer team called the Scottish Claymores.

As we might expect there are a large number of local streets named after places such as Argyllshire, Kintyre and Skye where the first Scottish settlers lived before coming to North Carolina.

Do you know any other place which is more Scottish than this town in North Carolina?

Want to become a Scottish Lord or Lady? Its easy enough and can be the ideal unique gift idea for anyone whether they have a Scottish connection or not.
